Wireless Solutions ushers in the new era of multimedia services on its EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) standard Mobile Entertainment Suite platform .

EMS represents an important breakthrough in messaging and entertainment applications opening the way for 3G MMS (Mobile Messaging Service).
Among the first in Europe to provide these services, Wireless Solutions confirms its leading role in the Italian mobile entertainment market, extending compatibility to all major manufacturers and pointing the way to new applications on third generation devices.

Milan, December 4, 2001 - Wireless Solutions, a DADA Group company and one of Europe's leading wireless application service providers, today announced implementation of the new EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) standards on its Mobile Entertainment Suite platform, allowing users to download rich multimedia content on the latest generation European GPRS handsets.

First in Italy and one of the first in Europe to provide a platform for transmitting EMS-standard multimedia content, Wireless Solutions ushers in the era of third generation services, extending compatibility to all the major handset manufacturers. Confirming its leadership in the development of mobile entertainment and messaging applications, the company is currently designing new proprietary technologies for more advanced multimedia messaging applications and is signing international agreements for content to be made available across the new networks.

EMS services represent a stepping stone between SMS and the third generation MMS standard (Multimedia Messaging Service) which allow users to send color graphics and animations and above all to download music as well as high resolution screensavers and wallpapers.

With the implementation of EMS on Wireless Solutions' Mobile Entertainment platform users can now download graphics, music, games, greeting cards and ringtones directly on the latest phones to hit the market like the Ericsson T68,T39, Alcatel OT 511, Motorola V66, etc., as well as the Nokia models already supported by previous versions.

Underscoring the success of Mobile Entertainment is a recently published study by Jupiter MMXI which found that 50% of SMS users in Europe are aged between 15 and 24, a full 21% of whom use the same technique to download logos and ringtones.
