Wireless Solutions Becomes Omnitel Vodafone's First Content Provider for SMS Premium Services
Available on the superEva network, the new services point the way for billing downloadable content via SMS .
Milan, 12 March 2002 - Wireless Solutions S.p.A, (Gruppo Dada), one of Europe's foremost wireless application service providers, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Omnitel Vodafone for new SMS Premium services in Italy.
Market leader in value-added SMS services, thanks to its proprietary technology Mobile Entertainment platform and high volume SMS traffic, Wireless Solutions has become Omnitel Vodafone's first partner in the development of new SMS services.
Access to the services couldn't be simpler: users choose from a wealth of content, each item identified by a reference number or keyword, and then send an SMS request to a specific Omnitel Premium phone number.
Based exclusively on an SMS request for content, the system represents one of the most efficient and transparent forms of payment for value-added PREMIUM services.
Targeted primarily at the entertainment segment, the new SMS Premium services allow users to download images, tunes and jokes directly to a mobile phone. These services can be found on the Waptopic.com and superEva.it sites in dedicated sections: 'SMileS' (http://www.supereva.it/smiles.shtml ) and 'Easylogo'(http://waptopic.supereva.it/easylogo).
Users only pay for content when they send an SMS request: the content is received again via SMS at no extra charge. Omnitel Vodafone customers can also get help with the services, or claim credits for faulty reception 12 hours a day, including Saturdays and Sundays, from Wireless Solutions' Customer Service.
